Ethical Considerations for Neuro/Biofeedback Providers

  1. The initial session outlines ethical considerations with an emphasis on understanding the Models of Ethical Behavior, Cultural Influences, Stages of Ethical Development and Influences of Ethics.
  2. The second session is a review of the BCIA and ISNR ethical consideration and Professional Standards and Ethical Principles.
  3. The third session reviews the 9 ethical principles, 6 Risky situations, 9 steps in ethical decision making and maintaining competency.
  4. The fourth and final session will be a Q & A session with case examples and specific questions from the attendees addressed. This session will be co-hosted by Robert Longo, MRC, LCMHC, BCN.

All four sessions must be attended to receive CE credit.

Who is the Audience/Level:
Geared for all licensed and/or certified providers of mental health services. Session 2 is specific to ISNR/BCIA professional guidelines however all sessions are pertinent to the practicing clinician.

Specific Learning objectives:
Based on the content of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  • Evaluate a potential scenario for risk of ethical misconduct.
  • Evaluate the steps to ethical decision making.
  • Evaluate and determine the relevant stakeholders in an ethical dilemma.
  • Understand and apply the BCIA and ISNR PSEP to their clinical practice
