ISNR Board of Directors

ISNR Board of Directors Highlights October 8, 2017

The information contained here are highlights from the ISNR Board of Directors Meeting of October 8, 2017.  The next ISNR Board meeting is scheduled for November 12, 2017.

Farewell to one of ISNR’s conference leaders, Dan Williams:

If you have been to an ISNR conference in the past 10 years, you may recognize Dan Williams.  Dan has been the conference chairman who has made sure that our conference run smoothly and on time.

At the completion of our most recent conference, Dan resigned his post as ISNR Conference Chairman.  We are very grateful for the growth and organization he brought to our annual event.

In light of Dan resigning, the ISNR board of directors has accepted the recommendation of Noel Ford to now chair the ISNR conference committee.  Noel has experience in having served on the conference committee under Dan for a number of years.  We are confident that she will bring about new concepts to further the academic growth of our conferences.

Financial Affairs:

The Treasurer’s report was presented and accepted by the BoD. We are pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, ISNR is operating with a board-approved budget.

Membership Benefit:

In a continued effort to provide value to membership, our Board approved offering a bundle package to current ISNR individual members.  Members will have the option of purchasing a package which includes 2018 membership renewal (valued at $240) as well as 2018 conference registration, both together for only $735.  How is this saving you money?  You will receive membership renewal for 2018, as well as 2018 conference registration at the 2017 rate.  Please note that this bundle price is only available until December 15, 2017.  Thereafter, 2018 conference registration prices will be in effect and a bundle package will not be available for purchase.

What Are We Doing to Grow ISNR Membership?

One of the successes of our 2017 ISNR Conference is that it hosted over 100 new attendees.  ISNR is reaching out to each of them to thank them for their participation and provide more information about the ISNR.  This is a continuation of efforts to expand our membership.

In addition to a member bundle, ISNR is offering a non-member bundle to the new attendees of our 2017 conference.  It will also be sent out to our non-member mailing list in hopes of growing attendance at the conference, and thereby membership as well.

The ISNR Board has scheduled brainstorming sessions to come up with outside-the-box ideas to grow our membership.  If you have any suggestions you would like for them to consider, please feel free to share it by emailing the President, Dr. Leslie Sherlin at lesliesherlin@gmail.com.

Now and Later Conference Information:

The conference streaming option was well received for the 2017 ISNR Conference.  In celebration of ISNR’s 25th Annual Conference, attendees received the benefit of streaming the Plenary, Keynote, and Invited speakers for an additional 25 days after the conference for free.  The live streaming attendance option will be made available for the 2018 ISNR Conference for those who cannot travel to Arizona next year, however, ISNR still accentuates the importance of personally attending the conference for the camaraderie and networking opportunities you would not receive by streaming.

As many of you know, our 2018 conference is set to take place at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa in Glendale, Arizona from October 18-21, 2018  (with pre-conference October 15-17, 2018).  But did you know that we have confirmed the destination for our 2019 ISNR Annual Conference?  In a location central to most in the United States:  in September 2019, Denver, Colorado will be hosting our conference.

Our Public Relations and Public Education Committee is Working for You:

Our PR/PE Committee is currently working on a project to create a PowerPoint template which will provide a basic explanation of what neurofeedback is.  This template will provide a source for our members to use in conjunction with their own slides when presenting about neurofeedback.  If you have interest in working on this project, please contact Rob Longo at [email protected].

Bringing ISNR into the Digital Age for Your Convenience:

Our Board is envisioning selling conference speaker presentations and workshops by streaming them instead of as DVDs.  This would provide immediate access to select ISNR conference material.  You can see what is available by going to ISNRU.com .  ISNR is actively looking for volunteers who wish to assist with this project of uploading the presentations.  Please contact Dr. Nancy Wigton at [email protected] to assist.

Insurance Reimbursement Tool-kit:

ISNR is looking into expand and enhance the resources on our website regarding navigating billing, coding, and insurance reimbursement.  More to come!

We Value Your Input:
